What information does Urban Shredding’s Certificate of Destruction provide me?

Each Certificate of Destruction itemizes shredding start time, finish time, date and weight of material destroyed.

What is the difference between Off-Site and On-Site Shredding?

Off-site means that the paper is shredded at Urban Shredding Systems secure warehouse.
On-Site means that a vehicle arrives at your place of business and shreds the paper at your location.

Which is more secure, Off-Site or On-Site Shredding?

Both Off-Site and On-Site Shredding are secure if the service is provided by a reputable company that has the experience to handle your sensitive documents in a secure and efficient manner.

What is more secure, Shredding or Recycling.

Shredding, because the material is destroyed.

Recycling is also a safe and secure way of disposing of your paper, but the paper is not destroyed until it reaches the consuming mill in the recycling process. .

Once Urban Shredding Systems receive my document at the secure warehouse - when does it get shredded?

Most material received at our secure warehouse designated for shredded is destroyed the same day it is received. The time stamps on your Certificate of Destruction will give you all the details that you need to have to satisfy your company's privacy and security policies

How long does it take to schedule my office clean-out?

It depends on how much material you have for shredding. For smaller clean-outs (less than 80 boxes), Urban Shredding Systems can usually schedule a pick-up within three working days.

For larger clean-outs, for example if you have two skids or 20 skids of files for shredding, it usually can be done within 7 working days.

Are Urban Shredding Systems employees bonded?

Yes. All of our employees are screened for RCMP clearance and are bonded.

Is paper that is designated for shredding recycled too?

Yes. Most paper that is shredded is recyclable and once shredded, is baled and prepared for shipment to a recycling paper mill.
